A Very Special Day

February 1st is one of my favorite days ever.  It is kind of personal so I'm not going to go in to details. But just know: I love this day!

In other news, our first anniversary is coming up in just a little over a month, and yesterday I figured out what I am going to get Eric! It's going to be awesome.  He usually (okay, always) out does me in gifts, but I think I've got him beat this time. No hints, he is too good at figuring things out. So you will know on March 5th! Oh wait, the weekend after that, because Eric is on call on our FIRST ANNIVERSARY!!! Don't get me started. I really really like celebrating things on the actual day. And our FIRST anniversary especially. I wanted to sit there with him and think, "at this very time last year I was getting my hair done with the girls," or,"at this exact time last year I was walking down the aisle to you," and so on. But instead I will be doing those things without him there. Sorry, I'm just a little bitter about this...especially because they gave him the weekend off at first and just now changed it. Huge bummer. Okay, I'm over it now...thanks for letting me vent.

I'm painting a dresser today! Then buying fabric for our living room curtains! I love fun projects like this!

Hope you love this day as much as I do.

Oh, and to all my Oklahoma friends: stay warm and safe! I'm slightly (or really) jealous of you right now.

Love,
Mrs. Wise

Obsession

I am obsessed with this Coach bag. It is just beautiful. You can wear it on your shoulder or across your body. It is big enough to keep all of my stuff in but not so big that people will look at it and say, "Whoa that bag is huge." The color is so pretty. It is perfect, don't you agree? I have had the same Coach purse for 3 years and I still love it and use it every day (thanks, Mom!). But it is cloth, and I am dying for an amazing leather bag. Maybe if I don't buy groceries or pay bills for the next few months I will be able to afford this. Who needs food/water/electricity anyway? Ha. Oh how fun it is to dream!

Bart and Shirley Visit!

I have been such a slacker lately! Sorry for my lack of posts. I am going to try to be better about blogging again. Things are finally calming down and getting back to a routine now!

A few weeks ago our awesome friends Bart and Shirley came to visit us from Norman! It was such a fun time. Sadly I had to work on one of the days they were here, but we all still had a  blast.

We ate lots of good food (one of the nights Shirley cooked and it was AMAZING), hiked Tom's Thumb, ate some gelato, talked about moving to North OKC after Eric's fellowship, living close to each other and having our kids be bff's, and spent lots of quality time together. It was great!

Eric and I on the way up!

Can I tell you how amazing it is that you guys came to see us? We loved it so much and can't wait to live next door one day :)

Tragedy in Tucson

I'm sure you have all heard about the shooting in Tucson over the weekend...

And I'm sure you have all heard about Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, KS who was made famous by protesting funeral of fallen American soldiers.  Absolutely disgusting.  Well, they were also going to protest at the funeral of the 9 year old girl who died in the shooting in Tucson. They agreed to not protest at her funeral in exchange for radio air time.  Thank goodness they will not be protesting, but it is absolutely ridiculous that it took giving them publicity for them to stop.

This group of people absolutely horrifies me. I don't even know what else to say about it. I'm not going to post a link to any articles about it because I feel like it would just be giving them attention which is what they want.  But if you haven't heard about them feel free to google them.

Be praying for the victims, families, and friends that were involved in this horrible tragedy.

Mrs. Wise

Thoughts on a New Year

Happy 2011! I must say, I am a little sad for 2010 to be gone. It was just such a good year filled with so many blessings...especially getting to marry Eric! I'm not going to lie, I am a little sad it's not our wedding year anymore.  I am looking forward to this year, celebrating our first anniversary and being done with year one of residency.  I just feel like 2010 was so overwhelming and went by so fast! Anyone else sad to see 2010 go?
Hope 2011 is filled with blessings for you all!

Jimmy and Nicole Visit

Last weekend our good friends Jimmy and Nicole came to visit! It was such a good weekend! We celebrated the new year (and Jimmy and Nicole's wedding year!), watched some Dexter, got Nicole hooked on Dexter, and watched the Sooners win the Fiesta Bowl.  We all had a great time just hanging out with each other!
